BACKGROUND

Melissa Escoffery was born in Chicago, Illinois but considers herself a Floridian as she has resided in Florida since the age of five. Ms. Escoffery enjoys spending time with her bright young daughter who keeps Ms. Escoffery youthful at heart. She also enjoys reading and goes running whenever the weather is comfortable.

 

EXPERIENCE

Ms. Escoffery began her legal career 15 years ago as a paralegal at a small boutique law firm.  She worked closely with attorneys and clients in the areas of estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, guardianship, and civil litigation.

When Ms. Escoffery decided to pursue a career as an attorney, she obtained a position as a law clerk at another firm specializing in family law.  Her duties included serving as a writer and coordinator while working closely with clients on matters covering various practice areas.

 

EDUCATION

Ms. Escoffery obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law in May 2017 and graduated Cum Laude (with honor).  In 2015 and 2016, she achieved Dean’s List status throughout her course of study and received book-it-awards from various classes.  Additionally, Ms. Escoffery was a member of the Florida A&M University Law Review editorial staff, she served as Junior Editor from 2015-2016, and Notes and Comment Editor from 2016-2017.

 

In 2000, Ms. Escoffery earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.

Ms. Escoffery is a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association and Orange County Bar Association.
